And we’re off.  In an hour we board a ferry to cross the Pearl River delta to start cycling.  Hong Kong was a blast and we have plenty of great photos still to share, but it’s time to hit the road.  We made sure to avoid the fake Casios and custom suits hawked at every corner in favor of dumplings, dim sum, and siu mei to get ourselves some energy for the road.  Starting this is a bit like diving into a pool – I’m not sure what the water will feel like or how long it will take to come back up for air.  I suspect Chinese internet filters will have more say in that than I would like.

Now it’s time to point our wheels west.  We’ve got 10,000 miles and 105 degrees of longitude to cover.  The first one goes down today.

To paraphrase the Chinese philosopher Lao-tzu - your 10,000 mile journey begins with a single revolution. Godspeed Kellen and Ben.
